BBH & Virginia Mason

Built by AIDS Housing of Washington, now known as Building Changes, Bailey-Boushay House opened on June 24, 1992, as America's first skilled nursing facility that was planned, funded, built and staffed to meet the needs of people living with AIDS.

Virginia Mason — a nationally-recognized health care provider — has operated Bailey-Boushay House since the day we opened, ensuring those who come here receive the highest quality care available.

On Dec. 1, 2007, in conjunction with World AIDS Day, Building Changes transferred ownership of Bailey-Boushay House to Virginia Mason, ensuring its sustainable future within the larger Virginia Mason Health System.
